Experience
I am a math tutor with several years of experience. I started tutoring in high school, offering help to other students. I then became a tutor in the Learning Commons through Lower Columbia College, where I was studying. I typically assisted students with geometry and algebra. I then began tutoring in harder subjects, like precalculus, trigonometry, and derivative calculus.I try my best not to rush students when I work with them. I let them come to some conclusions on their own and try to work out the problems. This helps build their problem-solving skills. I want students to truly understand the material in front of them, and not just memorize facts. I offer summer tutoring when school is not in session, and work with students throughout the year when it is. While math is my strong suit, there are a few other courses I offer. I tutor students in English, languages, grammar and mechanics, and even some Spanish.My college experience has varied from other people. I did not only attend one college, but will instead have three under my belt. I started at Lower Columbia, then transferred to Lane Community College when I moved. I will now be starting at Oregon State, continuing my education and choosing a major.
